EPSci: Rubber Band Car All-Time Record (image)

The picture is of the rubber band car that currently holds the all-time distance record of 21.04 meters. The rubber band car project has been a staple of the Earth/Physical Science class for five full years now. The rubber band cars are only allowed to use two #33 rubber bands to power the vehicle.

EPSci: Sustainable Development Project (.pdf file)

Near the end of the third trimester, the Earth/Physical Science students studied land-use decisions and how they affect the environment and community. As a cumulative project, students designed their own development in the Whitmore Lake area utilizing ideals of sustainable development. Here is one of the more exemplary projects (by Jessica).

EPSci: Testing Earthquake Resistant Buildings (Video)

At the end of the section on earthquakes students design & construct a building that is earthquake resistant. They are given a budget and have to buy any supplies they use (or don't use). The finished building is then tested on an "earthquake machine" to determine how earthquake resistant it is.
